The Perfect Staycation in Cottonwood – AZ Pines Motel

0

In July, the executive team for Scottsdale Moms Blog and North Phoenix Moms Blog headed north for a perfect staycation in Cottonwood. We put aside a weekend to talk about how to best serve you! What post ideas do moms in the area want to hear more of? When will our next Moms Night Out be? What will our upcoming play dates look like?

It had been so busy that I hadn’t really thought about what we would be doing to relax and unwind. This team worked incredibly hard this past year. From Noon Years Eve to Bloom to play dates to editing and reading every word that is posted, it takes a team of hard working, dedicated women who love this area to make everything work.

We were invited to stay at the AZ Pines Motel. From the minute we walked in, this was like no other motel I’ve ever stayed at! The rooms have been newly remodeled and are incredibly comfortable. The grand suite, where we stayed, was outstanding.

We had two large bedrooms (one with a king and one with two queens). The master bathroom and closet would make it incredibly easy for any family or extended family to stay and share the space. There was a full kitchen, a courtyard, a patio, and a living room. Like I said, this was like no other motel I’ve ever stayed at.

As soon as we unpacked, I could feel the tension lifting from my shoulders and I was ready to just relax and enjoy.

A few of the team had been to Cottonwood and had perfect suggestions for what to do! So, we’ve put together our list for you so that you can head up and enjoy a stress free staycation with some incredibly delicious food!

  • 3 Kings Kasbar – Old Town Cottonwood is a very short drive from AZ Pines Motel. We chose 3 Kings Kasbar and we are so glad we did! They served delicious tapas on a beautiful patio. The evening was perfect to listen to live music coming from a nearby festival. The service was fantastic.
  • 89A Agave – Sedona, Arizona is only a 25 minute drive away. The route is an easy, two-lane highway with beautiful views. The parking can take a while, so give yourself an extra 15 minutes so that you don’t feel rushed. 89A Agave serves fresh sonoran-style food and is great for groups.
  • Carlson Creek Tasting Room – The Verde Wine Trail – Did you know that Cottonwood, Arizona has the Verde Valley Wine Trail? We stopped in for a tasting and loved it! The atmosphere was very relaxed and perfect to talk business or just chat.

  • Merkin Vineyards Tasting Room and Osteria – This is a must. We chose this as our celebratory dinner at the recommendation of a few on our team and it was outstanding. The gnocchi was the best I’ve ever had. I love their farm to table concept.

We had an incredible time and I can’t wait to bring my family back!

Have you been to Cottonwood, Arizona? What did we miss! Let us know in the comments.
