Soccer Mom Must-Haves

This is a sponsored post for Post Consumer Brands, as always, all opinions are our own.

Soccer is BIG here in Scottsdale, so chances are if you have kids, you’re spending time at soccer games. We love watching our kids play and have a passion for something like soccer. This sport teaches them teamwork, the importance of exercise, and gives them some competitive spirit! Soccer is also a family affair, kids of all ages can play and our whole family loves to go watch and cheer each other on.

soccer momSome of us here at Scottsdale Moms have been in the “soccer mom” world for quite some time now and we wanted to share some of our favorite must-haves to make life easier for the other soccer moms (or soon to be soccer moms) out there.

Snacks: our kids are ALWAYS hungry, especially when they are using all sorts of energy on the soccer field! Post Cereal is an easy snack to bring along to the game and keep kids fueled. Honey Bunches of Oats® is one of our favorites, the touch of honey adds the right amount of sweetness to the crunchy clusters. If you want to mix things up, there are lots of great recipes using this and other Post cereals like Fruity Pebbles®. Blankets or comfortable chairs: Soccer games and tournaments can be long and you’re going to want something to sit on other than the grass! Blankets are great for spreading out and keeping warm on cooler evening games. Collapsible chairs help keep you comfortable when you need a break from cheering and chasing the team up and down the field.

Big umbrellas or portable tents: This one is especially important here in the desert where the sun beats down on players and parents watching all day long. Having a tent or big umbrella set up gives everyone a chance to watch from the shade, and a place for the kids to come cool off between games.

First Aid kit: Kids get hurt, and soccer is no exception! Having some bandages and wipes handy for quick patch ups after a tough fall will help get the game back on track fast.

Entertainment for the younger kids: Nobody wants a melt down while you are trying to watch a soccer game! Bring some easy entertainment like stickers, books, crayons, or even soccer player cards so that the littles can stay busy when the games get long. (If your kids are anything like ours, they have most likely found some professional soccer players they look up to, which is why it is so cool that Post Cereal is a MLS sponsor this year, featuring MLS collectible player cards on their limited edition cereal boxes.)
