Dads of Daughters: A special Thank you to my Husband!

0

I’m not sure if I have been noticing this lately because Father’s Day is approaching or if it’s because I have my own husband and daughter duo, but I have noticed lately how adorable Dads and daughters are with each other. My dentist gushed to me the other day about how much he just loves his daughter and how he goes home from work at night and just kisses her. I also saw the other day a dad walking down the street as his daughter was riding in her Barbie Jeep. Moments like that just make my heart melt. I have a daughter about to turn one who is just smitten over her daddy, I feel like I fell in love with him all over again the moment he became a Dad. So, I wanted to take the time to say thank you to all the husbands and Fathers, especially my husband for taking on the first year of parenting with me as a team.

Dear Husband:

Thank you for reading to our daughter every morning during pregnancy about her changes and growth, and taking time to say good night to her before going to bed.

Thank you for shopping with me for all the cute pink girly clothes at the store. Some of my favorite outfits of her’s are the ones you picked out.

Thank you for being at my side during labor and for those rough couple weeks when we got home. Actually, thank you for being by my side this entire time.

Thank you for battling that first diaper in the hospital that never ended as it kept coming and coming and coming.

Thank you for making me take those quick naps while she slept so I could find a little bit of fuel to push through the rest of the day.

Thank you for putting on those swim trunks 3 days a week because she loved getting into the large bath with you.

Thank you for letting her sleep on your chest every morning so that I could sleep just an extra 30 minutes more.

Thank you for creating the loudest giggles and biggest smiles from our little girl.

Thank you for being such a big part of our routines at night. The little open mouth kiss she gives you every night, even while fussing, just melts my heart repeatedly.

Thank you for doing the airplane ride for the 100th time to make her happy.

Thank you for letting down your wall of masculinity to savor every moment with your little angel.

Thank you for being my partner, my teammate and our best friend. This first year of parenting was one of the hardest yet rewarding things we have ever done TOGETHER!

THE LOVE BETWEEN A FATHER & DAUGHTER IS FOREVER
