Summer Reading Programs

Summer is HERE, kids are out for the summer and regular visits to the pool are in full swing. As much as we enjoy the break from the every day routine of school, the summer brain drain is a real thing (on average, students lose two months of reading skills over the summer). Last month we talked about ways to help your teenager succeed over the summer break, and now we are sharing fun reading programs to help your younger kiddos keep their brains in check!

summer reading

Arizona Diamondbacks – Read 500 minutes and receive a ticket to a 2019 Monday-Friday Diamondbacks game!

Barnes and Noble – Kids can earn a free book! Just read eight books over the summer and fill in a reading journal, when complete, bring it to your local Barnes and Noble for a free book from their list.

Half Price Books – Kids read all summer long and record their minutes on their book log, once they reach 300, they can bring it into a Half Price Books location for some bookworm bucks.

Phoenix Public Library  – Stop by your local library for more information and to get lots of great books!

Scottsdale Public Library – Like other programs, kids, teens and adults can log their reading minutes. Everything is done online, and once you hit the goals, you get prizes!
