This post is sponsored by Tri-Physical Therapy.I received a free session to try out the services, but all opinions are my own.

I was very excited to have a chance to meet with Dr. Barbara Goldworthy, PT, DPT, ASTYM at Tri-Physical Therapy. I went all in on my January health goals, and had some back pain I was hoping she could help me with.

The office is located in a beautiful medical building off of Camelback Road, in Arcadia. While the office has only been open since September, all of the practitioners have been working their individual fields for a long time. In addition to Goldworthy, the staff includes two massage therapists, and a Pilates instructor. They are currently in the process of adding chiropractic services.

This is the place to come if you need physical therapy. There are no techs supervising exercises; each appointment is fully overseen by the physical therapist. Goldsworthy focuses on rehabilitation through physical therapy, Pilates, and myotherapy. She did some soft tissue work on my back, and led me through a series of stretches that I could do at home.

At the end of our session she introduced me to the Pilates reformer. It looks like a type of torture device, but it was kind of fun. We went through several exercises that would strengthen my core muscles, glutes, and hamstrings; strengthening these muscles should relieve some of the stress from my back.

The office focuses on physical therapy rehabilitation: pre/post surgery, acute injuries, and chronic injury. They also work with clients on injury prevention. Private Pilates classes, and customized massages are available. Tri-Physical Therapy does take some insurance plans, but are usually out of network due to the amount of hands on time spent with each patient. They are happy to call and verify patients insurance benefits when needed.

I’m excited to say that my back is feeling much better, and I’m ready to keep diving into my healthy at fitness goals.

  1. This sounds amazing. The Pilates reformer is always a scary sight the first time you see it, but once you try it you’ll be hooked! Thanks for sharing this, definitely putting this on my radar.
