Our SMB team was recently invited to California Pizza Kitchen (Biltmore location) to try out some of their newer menu items and take a look at their newly remodeled space, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. We quickly learned that CPK is not just about pizza, they have a large variety of menu items to offer their guests and each one we tried was better than the last.
Every meal should begin with a cocktail, am I right? CPK let us taste several of their signature drinks made with fresh ingredients including the Strawberry Lime Margarita, Sangria Flight, and the California Roots – which was our favorite. Made with Avocado, mint and fresh agave sour, it is the perfect refreshing drink for a summer happy hour.
Our first course included the Bianco Flatbread, a perfect blend of cheeses, sage, and truffle butter. We also had the most perfect summer salad, the California Fields Salad that had nice chunks of watermelon and strawberries, all mixed with a housemade champagne vinaigrette.
Of course, it wouldn’t be called California Pizza Kitchen without having just that, great pizza! We had their famous BBQ Chicken pizza, but the Wild Mushroom pizza loaded with four different kinds of mushrooms and topped with white truffle oil quickly became a new favorite.
The main course was a perfectly cooked Fire-Grilled Ribeye served with roasted fingerling potatoes and a Hearth Roasted Halibut with asparagus and butternut squash farro. Next time you have a craving for a good piece of steak, we highly suggest you skip the traditional steak house and give the CPK version a try, seasoned wonderfully and tasted amazing. The halibut was equally delicious, a large piece of fish that was light, but flavorful. The butternut squash farro was rich and paired so perfectly with the fish.
Dinner would not be complete without dessert! CPK treated us to their Strawberry Shortcake (loaded with strawberries, whipped cream, housemade lemon zest, and vanilla ice cream) and Salted Caramel Pudding (decadent caramel pudding mixed with big chunks of black cocoa cookie crumbs). Both were the perfect way to end the most delicious meal and time spent with friends!
