Shop Local: Guide to Scottsdale Coffee

SMB coffee

Like many mommies, I enjoy my coffee. Each day begins with a cup, and I usually end up buying another while I’m out and about. There may be a Starbucks on every corner, but there are several local coffee places that I love to frequent in Scottsdale. I’m a huge fan of supporting local businesses and think that careful coffee preparation makes a difference in the taste too.

Here is this mommy’s guide to local coffee:

Best place to grab coffee on the way to the splash pad: Press Coffee Roasters

Located on the South end of the Scottsdale Quarter. The seating is limited, but the coffee is great. They serve brewed coffee, espresso based drinks, and cold brew coffee on tap. There are light menu offerings, but I have only tried the coffee. I like to park in the South Garage and stop in for an Americano on my way to the splash pad.

Best place to drink coffee and do homework (or write blog posts): Maverick Coffee

Located on the South East corner of Scottsdale and Shea. There is plenty of parking, and indoor seating. I think they have the best cold brew in Phoenix. There is a food menu with baked goods, and sandwiches, but I’ve only tried the coffee.

Best place to go out with friends (or on a date): Cartel Coffee

While there are 4 phoenix locations, the Scottsdale location is in the heart of Old Town. It has ample space on the patio, and is a great place to meet up with friends. There are lots of brewing options that allow you to order the perfect customized cup of coffee. I’m partial to the cold brew ice cream float, or the aeropress coffee here.

Best local flavored coffee: Passport Coffee

Located in the Scottsdale Airpark, this local gem sells coffee beans, loose-leaf tea, and everything you could need to brew the perfect cup of coffee or tea. I love their hazelnut and vanilla flavored coffees. You can order online, and pick up in store for free. They will even grind it for you.

*This guide is based on my own tastes and habits. I was not paid, freely caffeinated, or otherwise offered swag for my opinion. I just love local coffee and wanted to share my favorite Scottsdale places with our readers.
