Cooler temps, everything pumpkin &……flu shots?!?

signs of fall

It is that time of year again! Every year about this time I start thinking and planning my strategy. No, I am not talking about the Starbucks line for Pumpkin Spice Latte. I am talking about the flu shot for me and my family. Ugh. So not very fun, but so very necessary! And let’s just say I will deserve a Pumpkin Spice Latte after getting three kids their yearly flu shot!

There are a lot of reasons that we get our yearly flu shot. Sometimes, living in Scottsdale, you forget about those cold weather illnesses. We somehow think we are immune to them, but this is not true. The flu hits here just as bad as in the cold-weather states. Just because we don’t shovel snow and deal with ice storms doesn’t mean we get to avoid those winter illnesses.

If you are looking for an easy, quick way to get your family their flu shots, visit the MinuteClinic. You will be in and out before you know it!

We have been getting our flu shot at CVS MinuteClinic for years. The MinuteClinic is my go-to place for minor coughs, rashes, ear infections, etc. that always seem to appear at times when I cannot get in to see the pediatrician. I like that the wait time is minimal at CVS and the pharmacy is on-site so we can get home and start treating whatever illness has struck our house that week.

This year they are offering three different types of flu shots (Regular, Trivalent, and Quadrivalent). Here is more information about the different types of vaccines available at CVS MinuteClinic.

Also, the MinuteClinic offers flu shots to patients 18 months and older. Younger than 18 months should visit their pediatrician for the vaccine. The MinuteClinic flu vaccine is fully covered by most health insurance plans.

The best part is that you will receive a 20% off shopping pass at CVS after you receive your flu shot.  I love the opportunity to pick up essentials and maybe some non-essentials for me at a discount!
