Back to School: Find Bargains and Help Kids

Back to School KidsHalf price, BOGO, Spend $5 and get these for a PENNY, Red Line, Flash Sale, Clearance, Sidewalk Sale…BARGAINS. This is my lingo. This makes my heart jump.

It’s finally here…back to school savings!

With school starting in the upcoming weeks, the savings have begun. Everywhere I look, I see the ads and promotions. My inbox is bombarded with offers for everything a kid could want (and didn’t know they wanted) to get ready for school.

Vista Del Camino is a local outreach program that offers a variety of services to Scottsdale residents to help prevent homelessness and meet the needs of individuals and families in crisis. Once a year, Vista Del Camino has a school supply drive to help over 500 low-income Scottsdale K-12 students get ready for school. Check out the 2015 Back to School Program and see how you might be able to help.

This year, heavy-duty back-packs are especially needed. All donations need to be collected by July 24th and will be accepted at Vista del Camino, 7700 E Roosevelt Scottsdale, AZ 85257 or Via Linda Senior Center, 10440 E Via Linda Scottsdale, AZ 85258.

Missed the deadline for helping a child through Vista Del Camino? Stock up for your school, classroom teacher, church, community center or another outreach program instead. All students want to kick off the new school year in PRIDE.

Charlene over at My Frugal Adventures shares some of this weeks top buys for school supplies. For $15 I’m buying a backpack and filling it with supplies for a child in need. A penny saved is a penny earned…or a penny you can spend to help someone in need. I love being able to bargain shop not only for my own family, but to be able to help others as well.

Now wipe away those end of summer tears (or contain the cheers) and hit the shops!
