Public Libraries

The Scottsdale Public Library has a great summer program this year. You can sign up online or at the library to participate. Kids can win coupons to Chipotle or free books and the big kids (teens) can enter to win iPads, iPods or MacBooks.

Also check the programs and events going on this summer at the Phoenix Public Library – they have some great stuff happening too!

Barnes & Noble

At Barnes & Noble they are giving away a FREE book this summer to our little readers. Children in grades 1st through 6th can earn a FREE BOOK this summer when they participate in the Barnes & Noble summer reading program.

Here is how:

1. Read any 8 books and record them in the Reading Journal
2. Bring the completed Reading Journal to your local Barnes & Nobel store.
3. Choose a FREE BOOK from the selection on the Reading Journal list at the store

Another great reading program is the Story Time program at Scottsdale Fashion Square. Every Wednesday at 11:00am in the upper level near the Nordstrom Wing. The Police Officers of Scottsdale Association read a book to kids. It’s a great way to get out of the heat and enjoy the mall.

Happy Summer Reading!

  1. A friend of mine went to the library in Chandler and her son got free coupons for tons of stuff, skateland, chipotle, ice cream cone. Tons of stuff!

  2. Half priced books has a GREAT summer reading program. Log at least 300 minutes per month (you can do both June & July) to turn in for a $5 gift certificate. A lot of their books are $1.99. Great deal!
