The Belly Diaries – 19 weeks – Pregtastic Podcasts

2

I’m back, and I’m checking in now at 18 weeks and 5 days pregnant! If you missed my first post, click here.

Pregnancy is one of the most fascinating and exciting experiences I could ever imagine. Honestly, now that I’m past the sick phase, I’m enjoying every second of it. Now I know why they call the second trimester the “Honeymoon Trimester”!

This month I MUST share my favorite pregnancy resource…Pregtastic Podcasts!

Long before even becoming pregnant, my friend Steph (yes, of SMB!) recommended these podcasts, and I look forward to every new episode. Pregtastic podcasts cover everything you could want to know about pregnancy, from prenatal exercise to breastfeeding.

Here are some of the highlights Pregtastic offers:

  • Pregnancy “Ups and Downs”- Once a month one Pregtastic show is dedicated to talking about what’s going on in each podcaster’s pregnancy. The women share their experiences and advice, and it’s exciting to follow each of them through their pregnancy.
  • Expert Advice- Many shows feature an expert guest who speaks on a specific pregnancy-related topic. The guests are highly educated in their fields, and the podcasters have a chance to ask candid questions like, “What ON EARTH is a nipple shield?” and “I think I’ve tied myself into a straight jacket. Now, how am I REALLY supposed to wear this baby carrier?”
  • Birth Stories- I always look forward to hearing the podcasters’ birth stories after they return to the show with their newborn. From C-sections to all natural birthing centers, these women’s perspectives and experiences are about as diverse as they could possibly get!

So, listen in on some of the most recent episodes, or search for a pregnancy topic that interests you!

Before I go, I’ll give you my own “1 Up and 1 Down”…

        First, my DOWN.

Over the last month I’ve been suffering from regular headaches and several migraines. According to my OB, this is a common experience in the second trimester, but the good news is that I’ve been able to get significant relief from chiropractic care. What a relief.

        And now, my UP.

Movement, movement, movement. My goodness, this little guy is squirming around SO much, and I love it. Sometimes when he’s really having a party in there I can already see my belly moving from the outside. It’s really amazing!

        More next month…
