Best Food Gifts {2018 Holiday Gift Guide}

1

When it comes to hostess gifts, teacher’s gifts, and the gifts for all the people in your life that you need to get something little for….(but you know they don’t want another coffee cup or candle) a beautifully packaged treat is the perfect gift! I love to have these treats on hand too for when company comes over. We really have so many little hidden- away shops in Arizona where you can find all of these perfect food items that make gifting and celebrating through the holidays easy.

Here are our favorite food gifts this year!

We are so lucky to have a Penzey Spices store right on the corner of Tatum and Shea Boulevard. They have the best tasting cinnamon and vanilla (you must pick up some before starting your holiday baking). And these spices and blends make great holiday presents. The Florida Pepper is great on everything and the Italian Dressing mix makes homemade dressing super delicious. Plus they have great gift boxes and sets to make these spices easy, but fantastic presents.

Oil and Vinegar from the Queen Creek Olive Mill: Anything from this local store would make a great holiday present. They have tons of different olive oils, vinegar, soaps, and other locally made products. I especially love the flavored olive oils, which make for extra flavorful salad dressings and marinades. You can find the Queen Creek Olive Mill Store at Kierland Commons and the Biltmore Mall. Also I have heard that visiting the Olive Mill Eatery for breakfast or lunch is a must with out of town guests.

My Popcorn Kitchen is one of the best local stores in Scottsdale. I love the popcorn tins, I love all of the flavors, and I love how the store staff is always friendly and accommodating. Be sure to visit this month, because there seasonal flavors are always creative and delicious. But bon’t be surprised if there is a long line through most of December – tons of folks buy popcorn as teacher’s gifts (such a good idea!). Even better, call in your order so you don’t have to wait!

GoodyTwos Toffee Company: This local baking company has the most delicious chocolate covered toffee. It is perfect for anybody on your list, and they are going to thank you forever for this treat! Please do yourself a favor and order some as a gift AND order some for yourself. You can also find it at a few local shops.

Fairytale Brownies: Another super delicious, locally made product that makes a GREAT gift for everyone on your list. Plus they deliver all across the country! One of my life goals is to visit their Phoenix factory and hopefully eat all the cut-off brownie edges!

I would be so happy if someone would gift me Mama’s Cold Brew coffee or the flavored creamer. This is exactly the type of treat I need to get me through all the decorating, shopping, and wrapping that must happen over the next month. I pick up mine at Chestnuts Fine Foods when I stop by for a delicious breakfast.

I have not visited Noble Eatery to buy Noble Bread onsite or to visit the cafe, but I have had Noble Bread at other restaurants and it is sure memorable. I have never been to another restaurant where I have remembered the name of the bakery, so this bread is a fantastic local find for serving or gifting this holiday season. And as you are visiting the Farmer’s Market searching for this amazing bread, you can also find tons of other locally made gifts that are a wonderful way to celebrate the Holidays and support the people of our state. You will find tamales, salsa, hot sauce, homemade hummus, fresh flowers and more every week.

Where do you visit to find the best food gifts locally? Share in the comments and we will be sure to check them out.

  1. I got to try Mama’s Cold Brew at the Farmers market at North Phoenix Baptist Church. It was really good! I’ll definitely be trying some of the others. Thanks!
