Watermelon Slushie {A Win for Every Member of the Family}

watermelon slushie

One of my kids favorite summer treats is a watermelon slushie. It is so easy to make and super healthy.

Here are the steps so you can make a pitcher for your family.

  1. Cut up a watermelon and freeze in a gallon size Ziploc bag.
  2. After the watermelon has frozen overnight, blend until smooth in a blender with the liquid of your choice (I make mine with coconut water, sparkling water or apple juice).
  3. Add a squeeze of lime to give it a bright, citrus flavor.
  4. Garnish with a mint leaves and a straw.

We also like to make a pitcher for the kids and make a pitcher for the adults. For the adults just switch out the coconut water for white wine or Prosecco! Or use half water, half tequila for watermelon margaritas!

You can also pour the watermelon slushie into popsicle molds and re-freeze for yummy popsicles with no added sugar. The kids would never know they are healthy!

Either way it is the perfect pool side treat. Stay cool and enjoy!
