Friday Favorite Things {Angela’s Kitchen Picks}

Friday favorites 3I LOVE sharing new finds, especially new things that make cooking and everything I do in the kitchen easier.

Here are three of my new favorite kitchen hacks:

OXO Good Grips GreenSaver Containers. These things are amazing! I am THE WORST at buying too many fruits and veggies at the store. Then the week quickly flies by and I end up kitchen hackthrowing too much of it away. We just don’t eat it fast enough, or I forgot what I bought.

My easy solution is these refrigerator containers. They have inserts that give vegetables and fruits a longer shelf life. Plus the food sits in an easy to find container for the family to grab as snacks. I love the larger container for lettuce. It stays fresh in there all week long for salads. Hallelujah!! Less wilted, spoiled food to throw away!

DASH Go Egg Makerkitchen hack. This little machine makes eggs in minutes. We eat about a dozen hard boiled eggs a week. Between eating Paleo, Whole 30, or just Low Carb, we end up eating a ton of eggs. The machine makes hard boiled eggs in a snap, set it and wait for the timer to go off. The eggs are easy to peel and I can make six eggs at a time.

It also makes other types of eggs (scrambled, omelets, and poached) but really the hard boiled eggs are the best.

Blue Apron. I know you have probably heard of Blue Apron. Their commercials are EVERY where. I really was reluctant to try them. I dragged my feet for a year. But I am so glad I gave it a try.

First of all, the food is amazing. I have never made meals that tasted so good. The kids absolutely love the food, my husband loves the food, and I am just shocked. The ingredients shipped to me are all super high quality.

The second reason I love Blue Apron is that my kids all tried foods that they wouldn’t normally try. They ate radishes, they ate spices they have never heard of before, they tried goat cheese and they actually liked it all.

The third unexpected reason I love Blue Apron, is my ten year old started making the Blue Apron dinners for the family. I helped her prep the veggies and she took over with the step by step directions (with pictures) to complete the meal. She loved making dinner for the family, I have never seen her so proud of herself. This may be the most exciting thing that has happened in my house this year.

Of course there were slight modifications that I have to make with each meal to keep everyone happy, but it really was so easy. Click on the Blue Apron link for a $30 coupon to try Blue Apron in your home!

So those are my three kitchen hacks that I can’t stop talking about. What about you all? Do have kitchen hacks, gadgets or delivery services that have changed your life? Comment below.

    • Awesome! Thanks for sharing Wendy. We do love Blue Apron. My sister in law is now using Hello Fresh too. Have you tried it?

  1. In addition to Blue Apron, we also like Green Chef as a delivery service. And I love Eat Cleaner (www.eatcleaner.com) to wash my produce with and make it last longer!
