Hilton Tucson El Conquistador {staycation deals}

Recently, we drove down to Tucson, Arizona for the weekend.

Tucson is only 1 & 1/2 hours south from Scottsdale, so it is an easy drive. It is also about five degrees cooler, which makes all the difference in the world during our crazy summers.

We stayed at the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort. It was absolutely stunning. The resort is at the base of the breathtaking Santa Catalina mountains.

You couldn’t ask for a more beautiful view.

We ate at the resort at their Epazote Kitchen. It was amazing. I was a little worried about eating at such a nice restaurant with my kids; however, my little ones – 14, 11, and 3 – cleared their plates every meal. The staff was incredible friendly and helpful. They offered to make substitutions to keep all tummies happy and healthy.

The Roast Pork Tenderloin and the Santa Fe Enchiladas were huge hits with everyone!

And of course the desserts were incredibly decadent.

I think what I’ll remember about this trip is just being “us”.

We could have run around and seen museums in Tucson and tried to fit in one million things, but for us, that usually ends up in cranky exhaustion.

Instead, we took our time. We ate a slow breakfast. There was so much to do at the resort! There was no need to leave.

We swam for hours while the kids did the 143-foot water slide over and over. That evening, they enjoyed a poolside nighttime movie and made s’mores while I put my youngest to bed.

It was the perfect vacation for our family. We came home relaxed and happy. Plus, having a short drive home is a huge bonus!
