**Note: this is NOT a sponsored post…it’s just an AWESOME idea that should be shared with other mommies!

When I was a kid, for some reason, back to school shopping was always really fun.

I loved getting new pencils, notebooks, markers and folders (dare I say “Trapper Keeper?”) However, it might not be as fun for moms. Maybe it’s time we change that and make it a better experience for the whole family. There’s now an opportunity in back to school shopping to teach our kids about helping others while we purchase the necessary items for the new school year.

If you happened to do your back to school shopping this year at Target, something new might have caught your eye. There is a new company, founded by the same people that brought you’re the amazing fruit and vegetable based beauty product line Say Yes To Carrots (www.yestocarrots.com), called Yoobi.

Yoobi (www.yoobi.com) pronounced “you-be,” means “one for you, one for me.”

For every Yoobi item you purchase, a Yoobi item will be donated to a classroom in need, right here in the U.S.

It’s that simple!

Yoobi was born to make colorful, vibrant tools that spark learning and creativity. Not only did they want to perk up the school supplies aisle, but also wanted to help solve a very big problem.

So now when it comes time to go shopping for school supplies, you can introduce your kids to being tiny philanthropists.

“…Yoobi believes that it should be a right, not a privilege, for every child in the U.S. to have creative and colorful tools for learning. Together we can make it happen. Their goal is to donate Yoobi Classroom Packs to hundreds of thousands of classrooms in need.” (from www.yoobi.com)

Caring and giving starts here at home

…and companies like Yoobi make it easy to teach our families to help others in need. Because budgets are so tight in schools, teachers usually pay for supplies out of their own pockets. It doesn’t make sense that we live in a country where education is so valued, but the foundation to support it isn’t strong enough to hold it up. In addition to the social-benefit Yoobi is trying to provide in helping to solve some of these problems, they are also bringing the issue to the attention of those who can make a difference.

It’s a simple step, but a big opportunity. Learn more about Yoobi and their products on their website, and look for them being sold exclusively at Target.
