Ode to the Room Moms| A poem to celebrate all that you do

It’s that time of year with another class party underhand

To give praise to the room moms all over Scottsdale land

They have navigated 20 + families, wrangled contacts and emails from the beginning-of -school fair

Sign up geniuses are sent with the greatest of care

Party foods have been researched to the ninth degree-  yes we all know nut allergies, kosher, dairy intolerances, Red Dye No 5, vegan (little know fact Oreos are vegan) and those kids who are just plain picky so backup snacks are brought – labels are read to make sure kiddos are safe and there are no health scares

Pinterest boards are made to find that perfect craft that combines the flavor of the season but for those of us in public schools check that is does not have ANY forbidden sign, symbol, or phrase (see 30 page addendum document:)

And most importantly can actually be done by a six year old in a 20 min allotted phase

Games are conceived that combine the season with the maximum amount of sugar burning activity on a 20 min clock

Teachers want energy used up during party periods… so TICK TOCK,

Party day arrives and with style and grace

Room Moms are relaxed and never lose their “Happy” face

When the inevitable occurs…Half of the signup genius is forgotten and we must

“wing it”  from games to treats

The party will be go off and truth be told- kids are happy just to not be doing math stations and getting out of their seats

Hats off to you Room Moms-you have done it again and it’s no easy Feat!
