Choosing the Best Stroller for Scottsdale!

Top 3 Everyday Strollers

Scottsdale presents a unique set of challenges for strollers. Our terrain is vast and varied; parks, desert trails, malls and green belts are popular stomping grounds for strollers and the sun can be a killer. So, durability and adaptability are key characteristics to look for when shopping for strollers. Also, we are rarely traveling on foot to our local coffee shop or playdate so something lighter-weight and easily collapsible to fit in your car is a must. Other factors to consider?  Lifestyle and Budget.

If you imagine your days with your new addition involving a walking around the Thunderbird Park Farmer’s Market and maybe a stroll through The Scottsdale Quarter, you will need a completely different stroller than someone who will be trekking trails on Camelback Mountain.

Luckily, three strollers on the market are nearly perfect for our unique environment and lifestyle in Scottsdale.

Each stroller I’ve selected can be used as a primary or secondary stroller and (super important!) can hold a variety of car seats with a car seat adapter. Throughout the years I have seen a lot of strollers come and go but these tried and true strollers are loved by their owners and feel as if they are custom made for our climate!

BEST AFFORDABLE EVERYDAY STROLLER:

City Mini by Baby Jogger

Weighing about 17 pounds and with a lower price point around $170, the multi-award winning City Mini by Baby Jogger is a great everyday stroller for the majority of Scottsdale families. What makes this stroller so amazing for our climate is an extended sunshade for maximum sun blockage, upgraded rubberized wheels that won’t crack and fade from sun exposure, shock absorption on the front, adjustable wheel for bumpy dirt paths, a full, ventilated recline to prevent sweaty backs and a pull-tab in the crease of the seat that folds the stroller for you, allowing for a quick retreat into your air-conditioned vehicle.

BEST DELUX EVERYDAY STROLLER:                                                                    The Vista, by UppaBabyhttps://images-blogger-opensocial.googleusercontent.com/gadgets/proxy?url=http%3A%2F%2F1.bp.blogspot.com%2F-kdVvK2jgSJM%2FUvMKELelv6I%2FAAAAAAAAACI%2FU2EQ-cmVjHc%2Fs1600%2Fuppababy_0056-jke.jpg&container=blogger&gadget=a&rewriteMime=image%2F*

This stroller is for the Scottsdale parent who will be taking the stroller everywhere and is willing to seriously splurge on some added luxuries. The Vista from UppaBaby has a $730 price tag but comes with all of the bells and whistles. At 24 pounds, this stroller comes with an interchangeable organic bassinet, with matching stand option, for a fashionable and leisurely stroll with your newborn and a toddler seat with a full recline. The Vista also has the capacity to hold multiple children, upgraded rubber wheels, adjustable front wheels, a telescopic handle, a stiletto break that is safe for flip flops, and a stunning storage space for storing shopping bags. This stroller is also simple to lift and store in the back of a car. The most used feature of this stroller was virtually designed for our sunny climate. Lovingly known as the paparazzi shields, a sun shield is built into the canopy on both the bassinet and toddler seat that fully extend to nearly completely cover your little one from our harsh sun or prying eyes.

BEST FOR JOGGING/HIKING:

The BOB Revolution by BOB

The BOB is affordable (at just over $300) and is designed much like a mountain bike. It features adjustable, visible shock absorption on the front, adjustable wheel, large bicycle-like, air-filled tires, and a heavy duty aluminum alloy frame. This stroller takes the trail like a true sport vehicle and decreases bounce for baby. Also, the fold is rather simple for this goliath of a stroller. The one downside to this sport utility stroller is a shorter canopy so an extra sun-shield on the trail is necessary. BOB also backs their product with a 5 year warranty.

All of these strollers feature amazing internet reviews ( no lower than 4.5 out of 5 stars on Amazon.com)  and are absolutely adored by my clients. Happy Strolling!

  1. I love my City Mini (classic)! I just need to figure out how to convince my husband to get the GT for baby #2!

  2. I love my Vista. It’s super easy to push and open a door at the same time. It’s also easy to clean. A plus is if you buy the travel bag and register your stroller if something happens to it (gets broken during air travel) uppababy will replace it for free. Great article on 3 great strollers.
