In this digital age, we are now exposed to a wealth of knowledge at our fingertips and if we choose, we can become experts on just about anything! Truly. We all know the power of Google and its ability to deliver an abundance of information instantly!
It’s not hard to see why technology’s ever growing presence can become pretty overwhelming. Apple is releasing new iPhones faster than I can make breakfast and frankly, social media feels as present as my shadow. The options are endless and making a decision about a birthday party theme or taking a picture of my children isn’t what it used to be.
If you let it, specific avenues of technology can set false expectations of being that Perfect-Pinterest-Martha-Stewart-Do-It-All –Kinda-Mom!
Are you okay with this? Oddly enough, I AM! Why? Because I can’t do it all and frankly, I’ve accepted this! But I can do some of it and I am thankful for all the accessible inspiration and information technology brings to me. I love learning new things and improving upon that which I already know!
So, rather than fear it, make technology work for you! It can be a mom’s best friend.
If you’re like me, you take more pictures of your kids in one week than our parents did before we turned five! And what about editing, designing, scrapbooking and crafting? There are some fun and helpful Apps such as Big Lens, Hipstamatic, and PicCollage that are great basic tools and some of my personal favorites.
And if you decide you want to take it a step further? Below are two amazing resources, providing online classes on anything from Photoshop, Illustrator, to crafting and sewing! We are busy moms fitting in what we can! So when the learning is at your fingertips, it’s hard to resist!
