How to Make Hair Bows! A DIY Tutorial

HOW TO MAKE HAIR BOWSAbout a year ago, during my 12 week ultrasound, I heard the sentence that I knew would change my life forever: “You’re having a girl!”

A few hours later, I was on the phone with one of my best friends from college (who just happens to be the mother of 3 little girls) telling her the news. At this point, I heard another extremely important sentence, “If you’re going to have a daughter, I really need to teach you how to make hair bows.”

Now honestly, I’m not the craftiest person around but she convinced me this was a skill I simply must learn. She promised me it would be easy. She promised me they would be darling. She promised me it would save me a ton of money. And, knowing I am a visual learner, she promised to make me a photo slideshow to teach me just how to do it.

After 2 boys, I am grateful to have a friend to show me the all the tricks of being a proper “girl mom.”  Now, I pass that wisdom onto you. Enjoy!

I had a girl after having a boy. She is not yet 1yr and I have spent more money than I thought possible on hair bows. I’m not crafty but I might give this a try. If you don’t have time to make your own there is a great shop called Basically Bows off of Scottsdale Rd. & Shea.

This is such a great tutorial! So much better than what I tried to do. I always hot glued my fingers or couldn’t get a string on to hold it in place! Thanks for sharing! Angela Butler – Clarksville, TN Photographer
