Contributor Corner | Where in the World {Wide Web} are YOU?

5

It’s time for another Contributor Corner post! If you’ve missed our previous installments and want to know things like what our lovely ladies keep in their purse or where they grew up, be sure to check out previous Contributor Corner posts.

Today we’re talking about all the places we write, tweet, pin, post, update and play on the internet (besides here at SMB, of course). We hope you’ll join us and follow us in these different social media platforms, and that you’ll post a comment below telling us where we can find YOU online too!

QUESTION: Besides right here on Scottsdale Moms Blog, where ELSE can we find you on the web?

Beth

There are days where I feel like social media is my only contact with the outside world! I started my blog, The Goon Room after my daughter was born get my thoughts down on paper (figuratively!) and it has blossomed into a great journal of our lives. I use Linked In for business networking, however, I think it’s a little like a fancy version of Facebook. I love Facebook for keeping up with friends and family members and I discovered Pinterest a few months ago. I had no idea what to do with it until I started looking for craft ideas – I’m now just a hint obsessed with it.

Kirsten

Of course, I’m on Facebook but I’m not much of a status updater. I’m also on Pinterest …a lot!  I’m mostly there to covet people who have really fancy kitchens. (If you enjoy drooling over marble counter tops and farmhouse sinks, you’ll really want to follow me!) For the last year or so, I’ve been blogging at a personal blog for my family and friends. I would share the address but I can guarantee that no one except my college roommates and my grandmother would find it slightly fascinating!  However, I am in the process of starting a new blog, There will be laughter, that will be a little more like the writing I do at SMB. Along with the new blog, I am beginning to embrace the world of Twitter (@willbelaughter).

Steph

I’m a little bit of a self diagnosed social media junkie.  I just love how easy it is to connect with people and share such great information online.  Here’s where you can find me (other than on SMB of course).  In terms of blogging, you can find me on my personal blog, Alan and Steph and on the Family Matters Blog.  I also tweet from @AlanandSteph, @Family_Matters and @CityMomsBlog (yes… three accounts…’nough said). And then of course there’s Pinterest.  You can follow all of my pins HERE.

Sarah

Ummm…a little bit of everywhere? I love social media and the depth it has brought to my real-life relationships and experiences as a mom. I use Facebook of course (along with 800 million others, right?), mostly to stay connected to my real-life family and friends. I’m @powersofmine on Twitter and I help manage the @scottsdalemoms Twitter account for SMB as well. My personal blog is Powers of Mine. Technically I’m on Pinterest, but I have to say I’m just not as into it as so many other mamas are. I think it’s because I’m more of a reading/writing/verbal person than a visual one (and let’s face it: I KNOW I’m never going to do all those craft and DIY projects). I’m testing the waters over at Google+ (both for myself and for SMB), but it’s pretty lonely over there for the most part. Finally, I’m loving Instagram (username: powersofmine) these days too!

Angela

My computer is in the kitchen, so I do spend a ton of time online. I check in on Facebook at least once a day. I love love love Pinterest. This is where I find recipes, craft ideas, great blogs and look at all the pretty clothes and products I wish I could go buy. I also am @angelabarako on Twitter. I don’t really “tweet” much, but I do like following other people. I normally just check out Twitter when I am bored sitting in the school pick-up line or some waiting room.

Cate

I have a personal blog, Gathered From Afar, and a blog specific to Reactive Attachment Disorder called Attaching Hearts.  I am also on Twitter.

Tracy

On Facebook, I am Tracy Kerr Carson. Here you will mostly see me interact with my college friends from the southeast, unabashedly self-promote my online articles and link Instagram photos (you can follow me there at tracykcarson) that I take throughout the day. Oh Instagram how I love you. So much fun. And while we are talking photos you can actually find my business website at tracycarsonphotography.com! That’s right, as if counseling and writing and mothering and wife-ing? weren’t enough I also have a little photography business. It’s mostly seasonal but I have a very real creative side that needs to be let loose every once in a while and this helps me do it. Speaking of creativity, you can really get a glimpse into that side of my brain if you follow my boards on Pinterest. There I am Tracy Carson and you will see how I wish I could decorate my house, the meals I can only dream about creating, and the wardrobe I long to own. It is pure enjoyment and very fun eye candy for me. Speaking of eye candy…let’s talk celebrities shall we? Twitter (@tkcarson) is the place where my split personality really comes out. One day you will find me tweeting about my articles and (again) unabashedly trying to get The Today Showto notice that a therapist in Scottsdale, AZ exists and might have something great to say about women’s issues while the next day I am tweeting the likes of Billy Bush and former Bachelor contestants and Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser because, well, it’s just really fun. Sometimes they even tweet me back!  (Billy Bush has twice and it is one of my proudest accomplishments.) Kidding, kind of. We do have a private family blog that is mostly for far away Grandparents to be able to see their precious grandchildren any waking moment of the day if they so choose. It’s been private for a while and I don’t really think about going public with it. Finally, while we are talking about more serious internet usage, my counseling office also has a website, www.pcaaz.com and you can read about our practice as well as see my professional bio. So there you have it, come friend me and like me and repin me and tweet me it will be loads of fun, I promise!

Now it’s your turn! We think it’s fun to connect online – especially with the ladies we know are also living right here in our community. Leave a comment and share your blog, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.!
